All of my professional experience as an entrepreneur, executive coach, psychotherapist, and performance expert has been in the Silicon Valley. The Valley is an incredible hotbed of innovation, but it’s also become full of pressure to grow, compete, and get to market first. That has lead me to develop techniques to not only keep up, but outpace the guy next door. Is it always easy? No, but it definitely can be done! Below are three simple techniques that I use daily to get my day started right.

Stretch and breathe
Don’t check your phone in the AM! Set your mental state by spending your first 5 minutes awake doing some simple stretching and deep breathing.
Breakfast within first hour
It is critical to eat within 1 hour of waking (fasting excluded). Without the right nutrients and energy, your brain will burn resources searching for food.
Supplements for energy and focus
For years I have used 500mg L-Tyrosine + 500mg NAC + 400mg of Raw Cacao for AM focus and energy. (Start slow and consult your medical provider.)
